1. Necessary Targets - a New Play by Eve Ensler
We're happy to announce that Eve Ensler's new play "Necessary Targets,"
will begin performances on February 14 at the Variety Arts Theatre
in New York City. Based on Eve's interviews with women survivors of
the Bosnian War, Necessary Targets is an extraordinary play about
community, about dialogue, and about healing.

I have a vision that one day I will not be called a bitch
for standing up for what I believe in. I have a vision that
I won't be looked down upon for not believing in enslaving
myself to the institution of marriage.
I would like to see my sisters not have to use controlled
substances to have "fun" and feel like a real person. I wish
college students, female and male, would wake up and realize
that oppression is everywhere, not just in foreign countries.
Someday it would nice if every woman had the right to choose
to control her own body through the use of contraceptives,
abortion and other medical services. I have a vision that
the women and men of my generation can teach their children
to not fear and hate one another, to be loving, compassionate
and open-minded citizens, who care about each other and about
the rest of the world.
