When there is no longer violence against women and girls in the world, I'll be:
- Less self-conscious about my clothes: wear a skirt to ride in a bus or a strappy top.
-Unafraid to take a taxicab by myself
- Able to walk home from school even when the sun it's going down.
-Able to enjoy just walking down the street without being creped out by things said and looks thrown my way.
When I first heard about V-Day, the whole concept seemed utopian, to say the least. I've grown so accustomed to violence that sometimes only especially strong manifestations of it raise my awareness; and all the small things just escape me, like the fact that I should be able to go out on the street without being afraid. I have to say; I still don't know what to do or how can violence can be stopped. But I'd like to help and that's why I'm here. I'd like to hope.
