V-Day 2002 awardees included Equality Now, V-Day’s Safe House for Girls in Kenya, the Revolutionary Afghan Women’s Association (RAWA), and the winners of the International Stop Rape Contest.
Many V-Day direct awards were given in association with the major V-Day fund raising events – Hammerstein, Harlem, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., London, Tucson and Rapid City. The National Tour of "The Vagina Monologues" led to awards in 45 cities in the United and Canada.
