INTERNATIONAL WOMENS MARCH LIVE FROM CHILE – As Chile prepares to elect the authors of the nation’s new constitution in April, an estimated 1.5 million women will take to the streets to center their valiant voices in this forthcoming process. Self-identified women from across a plethora of civic, cultural and political spaces are set to march on the Alameda and demand equity and justice in the areas of healthcare, reproductive rights, education, along with amnesty for the 3,000 plus women and men who have been detained by authorities since the nationwide uprising in 2019.

In a show of international solidarity, a US delegation of women leaders from the Black Lives Matter movement and Defund the Police will attend the march in Santiago. They will work alongside women leaders responsible for mutual aid, medical services, legal support as well as the frontline freedom fighters who protect protesters from police repression.

Over the course of march, a three-person team consisting of members from the US delegation and Chilean movement leaders will go live and stream critical aspects of the march: 1) major demands, 2) cultural manifestations [dance, music, art] 3) the provision of mutual aid and medical services and  4) the international observation and documentation of state violence against women activists.
