TOGETHER, WE RISE

2026 RISINGS ARE HAPPENING NOW THROUGH EARTH DAY/22 APRIL

As we write, activists in over 70 countries are rising, with 1000+ events already happening or scheduled.

Risings will continue unfolding across the globe from now through International Women’s Month/Day (March/8 March) and Earth Month/Day (April/22 April).

Using art and education, listening and solidarity, dialogue and reflection, ritual and storytelling, we rise to create new realities. We rise so people can return to their bodies, their sexualities, their creativity, and their full humanity. Imagine. Dream. Create. RISE for our Bodies, our Earth, our Future.

We RISE to dismantle patriarchy by understanding its roots and ending the roles we play in sustaining it. We rise to transform the architectures of violence—economic and political, racial and class-based, religious and cultural—and to refuse participation in systems that violate, exploit, exclude, and destroy.

We stand in solidarity with all survivors of sexual violence. We support the trans community, immigrants, and every group targeted by the far-right movement. We refuse to normalize their violence. U.S. ACTIVISTS – RISE AGAINST ICE: Rise For Our Bodies, Our Communities, Our Future.

In the United States, we are called to confront the specific systems that enact gender-based violence, from the terror inflicted by ICE, to the ongoing silencing of survivors like those harmed by Epstein. We are witnessing how patriarchy, white supremacy, and state violence intersect with impunity. In 2026, we Rise to break that silence, to expose the harm and to uplift the leadership, truth, and vision of those most impacted. We Rise in public and private, in large gatherings and small acts of defiance, through creativity and collective action.

Here are a set of ideas and tools to help shape your 2026 Rising in alignment with this year’s theme, Rise for Our Bodies, Our Earth, Our Future: onebillionrising.org/riseagainstice. Let your community’s wisdom lead, there is no single way to resist. Ground your actions in care, accountability, and the leadership of those most impacted. Clarify why you are Rising and who you are accountable to. Center the specific issues your community is facing, and consider the impact you want to make, whether it’s raising awareness, supporting a campaign, pressuring decision-makers, or building long-term coalitions.
